Awareness and Networking Event 2009

Le Meridien Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

The first major event for 2009, this Awareness and Networking Event was divided into three sessions: a Breakfast Talk, Luncheon Talk and Company Secretaries Lecture Series. Ashley Summerfield, Head of Practice at Egon Zehnder, London, delivered the lectures at each of these sessions. The Breakfast Talk discussed ‘Enhancing Board Effectiveness in a Turbulent Environment’ and the topic for the Luncheon Talk was ‘Getting the Right Board Behaviours in Navigating Delicate Issues’. The final session for the Company Secretaries was the Cosec lecture series, ‘The Crucial Role Company Secretaries Play in Board Effectiveness Enhancement’. The Breakfast Talk was attended by 26 GLC Board members, the Luncheon Talk by 8 GLC Chairmen, and the Cosec Lecture by 24 GLC Company Secretaries.

MINDA moves to new office
October 2009

MINDA’s first CEO, Dato’ Aziz, assumed his duties. During the same month, MINDA formed its new team and moved into its new office in Block 2A, Plaza Sentral, Kuala Lumpur Sentral. A simple Doa Selamat ceremony was held in November to mark the occasion.

Director’s Forum 2009

The topic of the first Director’s Forum 2009 focused on the Board’s roles in response to turbulent times in the areas of leadership, finance and risk management. The Forum attracted a total of 12 participants.
